Phyllis 03:25
PHYLLIS And Phyllis came home, Her head torn and twisted From the secrets she stowed. There’s a storm outside She’s been watching for years Filled with nicotine. It never clears. And I realise, Life without you is a fantasy. Like a whiskey, you’re going straight to my head Like a fetish, you’re tying me to my bed Like a religion, you’re driving me to my knees Like a prison, I know there’s only one release, And Phyllis is scared By all the implications In the things she said. Her lover never stuck around To find out that there’s more to her Than a visitor passing through, Looking for something to do, And Phyllis, I will always be there for you. Like a season, I want you changing next to me Like a sunset, I want you going down on me Like a curse, I want you hanging over me Like a disease, I want you burning deep in me You’re like a mistake, but there’s no going back for me, I’m not a mirror to satisfy your vanity. Oh Phyllis, take a look at yourself.

Budapest 06:04
BUDAPEST Come with me to Budapest And walk through those dark, dark streets, There’s gravestones stacked by the river Scribed with dreams that came to die. The men are coming, The men are coming And I’d much rather flee. But left alone in Budapest, There’s no where I’d rather be. Sit between those two stone walls And tell me you’re not freaking out. The cold dark shadow on the mount Is cracking skulls tonight. And if the Danube fills with blood, You’ll know it’s for the greater good. The pox is spreading, The pox is spreading, Rakosi, If you were right and Joe is king, Then the truth won’t set me free In Budapest Stripes of red expanding out, Yelling cries of ‘Auschlander Ausch’, The tears they shed’s not from the gas As much as the peal of the bell. And though it don’t mean much to me It’s the greatest shit storm since 1873. The people are rising, The people are rising From each corner of the city, An orange glow spread across the sky As far as the eye can see In Budapest The men are coming, The men are coming And I’d much rather flee. But left alone in Budapest, There’s no where I’d rather be. The men are coming, The men are coming And I’d much rather flee. But left alone and ostracised, There’s no where I’d rather be Than Budapest

FOREVER FRAIL What would you say if I said you were my hero In life, death, decadence and the places That lie in between? What would you say if I said You were the last thing on my mind? But didn’t you always say You never existed anyway? And soon your heart will fail, And you’ll be forever frail. Sometimes I imagine you if you stood up And laughed at those who scorned you and fucked you but instead you said, ‘If He can sacrifice his son, I guess I can’t complain’ I’m sure some would say I knew He’d do it one of these days, And soon your heart will fail, And you’ll be forever frail. Sometimes it’s so hard Just to look you in the eye. Would you be there if I called for you Or would my name be lost on your Final shallow breaths? But didn’t you always say You welcomed death in a way? And soon your heart will fail And you’ll be forever frail.
